On One Great Hour of Sharing Sunday, we share the goodness of life with people who hurt. Our designated gifts to UMCOR through The Advance and special appeals go directly toward relief efforts. Our One Great Hour of Sharing offering pays administrative expenses for UMCOR and supports ministries of food, shelter, health and peace. When we assist UMCOR with our offering, we are part of the important work that happens in places like Flint, Michigan and around the world.

John Wesley’s statement “the world is my (our) parish” speaks to the account of the parable of the “Good Samaritan” in Luke.
Jesus inquires of the one who asked “who is my neighbor”.
“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”  The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
